Nuits-Saint-Georges
1er Cru “Les Pruliers”
Joseph Faiveley

Barrel sample. “Mid slightly smudgy crimson. Sweet and spicy oak notes at first (50% new on the premiers crus and the other 50% in two-year-old oak) with pure red fruits underneath. More savoury and meaty on the palate, riper and a little bit leathery. Firm and chewy but still juicy in its freshness. Doesn’t have the charm of the Nuits-Saint-Georges village wine but clearly has greater longevity and needs more time. Drink 2023 – 2028.”

Millésime 2017. Cask sample. “Light to mid crimson. Scented, delicate and inviting. Tight, juicy and with dry but super-fine tannins. A little bit clenched. Mouth-watering. Long. (JH) Drink 2021-2028.”
