The burgundy briefing

November 2019

94 / 100

Millésime 2018. “Elegant. Both ripe and fragile. I like the fine texture. Salty long finish.” by Sarah Marsh.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Janvier 2020

92 – 94 / 100

Millésime 2018. “There are 10 barrels of Domaine Faiveley’s 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos des Issarts Monopole, a lovely wine that opens in the glass to reveal aromas of cassis, smoked meats, dark chocolate and earthy forest floor. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a deep core of succulent fruit, rich and refined tannins and a sapid finish.” by William Kelley.

Allen Meadows’ Burghound Scores

Janvier 2020

90 – 92 / 100

Millésime 2018. “Soft wood sets off the floral-inflected nose of mostly red and dark currant aromas that possess background wisps of the sauvage and floral hints. The supple and rounded flavors possess an almost gentle mouthfeel that exhibit reasonably good depth and persistence on the firm but not hard finish. This is not particularly dense or powerful which should permit it to drink well earlier on.”

Jancis Robinson

Décembre 2018

17 / 20

Millésime 2017. “Sweet oak spices on the nose, ripe cherry and redcurrant fruit and a lovely toasted, smoky note on the finish. Finely integrated fruit throughout – modern but faithful to its origin. (RH) Drink 2021-2033.”
